Yellow Neocaridina Shrimp are a striking and hardy choice for freshwater aquariums. Their bright colour contrasts beautifully against dark substrates and green plants, making them an eye-catching addition to peaceful tanks.

Yellow Shrimp (also known as Yellow Sakura Shrimp or Neon Yellow Shrimp, depending on grade)

Neocaridina davidi

Colour Variant:

Bright, translucent yellow to solid lemon-yellow

• Higher grades show stronger, more uniform yellow with possible dorsal striping (“racing stripe”)

Size:

• Adult size: ~11.5 inches (2.53.8 cm)

Lifespan:

• Around 12 years+ with proper care

Diet:

• Omnivorous: algae, biofilm, blanched vegetables, shrimp-specific pellets, and occasional protein sources

Breeding:

• Easy to breed in freshwater

• Females carry eggs (berried) for ~34 weeks

• Hatch as miniature versions of adults (no larval stage)

• Beneficial to ecosystems as natural cleaners, feeding on detritus and algae
