Appearance
Its striking resemblance to Salvinia is set apart by its distinctive mono leaf structure on each node. The water-repellent, heart-shaped leaves elegantly conceal the stem, occasionally giving rise to delicate white flowers adorned with six petals.
Lighting and Fertilisation
Interestingly, the leaves take on a rich red hue when exposed to intense light. Red plants including the red root floater become more intense red in lower nitrate levels. Plants still need nitrogen in order to grow properly but can find a happy medium with lean dosing
