The Longfin batfish should just like most other batfishnever be kept in reef aquariums as they can cause a lot of damage. It is suitable for “fish only” and “fish with live rock” aquarium setups. Ideal conditions for the Longfin batfish is pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.020-1.025, and temperature 72-78F (22-26C).
Diet
Batfishes should be fed with bothalgae based foods and different types of frozen food or seafood. Many Spadefish cannot adjust to captivity and become much too big, but several species of the Batfish (Platax genus) can be kept in a large aquarium
