Aquarium Biological Filter Media (Bio Media)

This pumice-based bio media offers effective bio-filtration for the removal of nitrogenous waste. It supports the growth of both nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. Being completely inert, it will not break down over time, so it doesnt need to be replaced.

Biomedia can also be used underneath aquasoil as a base layer to build height in the back of the aquarium which can be more cost effective than using multiple bags of soil.

How Much Bio Media Do I Need?

As a general buying guideline, each Oase Biomaster media tray holds approximately 1 litre of bio media. We change all the media to pumice based media with the exception of the top ‘red sponge’ tray which polishes the water.
