LIVE APOCYCLOPS COPEPODS

Apocyclops copepods are the intermediary size of the three copepods we offer sitting at ~1.4mm. They are small hardy crustaceans belonging to the Cyclopoida unlike our other two copepods. They are specially cultivated onsight and catered to feeding smaller animals such as gobies, mandarin, seahorses and filter feeders.

PICKY EATERS

Apocyclops copepods are perfect for picky eaters such as mandarins, seahorses, gobies, filter feeders, and any other juvenile fish due to their size ~1.4mm maximum. They swim in a jerky motion which catches fishs attention due to the movement. Different stages of life require different sized foods to ensure proper nutrition which is why we recommend these, and Apocyclops copepods for picky eaters. They also contain our essential golden fats(PUFAs) such as docosahexaenoic acid DHA and EPA.

EASY TO USE WITH CONVENIENT STORAGE

The product comes in a resealable bottle that can be stored in your refrigerator for extended shelf life. Oxygenate the bottle daily and add food( we use Isochrysis) when the bottle runs clear until all copepods are added to the tank.

Our ready-to-use liquid formula allows for easy pouring directly into your aquarium. Acclimate the bottle to your tank’s water conditions. Release the copepods into your tank or refugium. It’s best to do this at night when fish are less active. Initially, you may need to provide additional food for the copepods, like live phytoplankton.

The Apocyclops copepods are sustainably bred in our Edmonton Based Coral Farm. We breed them by feeding them our “Isochrysis – Live phytoplankton”.

Further, these hardy organisms have a high survival rate in marine aquariums, ensuring a long-lasting and cost-effective food source.
