Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is a compact aquarium plant native to South America. Known for its fine, grass-like appearance, it creates a beautiful “lawn effect” when grown under high light intensity, reaching a height of 4-7 cm.

How to use Lilaeopsis brasiliensis

To establish a lush carpet in your aquarium, plant small clumps a few centimeters apart.This species thrives in open areas with no shading from other plants to ensure it receives the best light. It is considered an easy plant and will grow in low tech set ups but carpeting will take considerably longer as it is a slow growing plant.

Plant Maintenance

This plant is quite low-maintenance, requiring minimal care compared to other plants and carpeting species. Generally, all that’s needed is trimming any loose runners and tidying up areas where it has spread.

Emersed Growth

Lilaeopsis brasiliensis can grow beautifully in an emersed setup, offering a lush, grassy effect outside of water. Provide high humidity and good lighting.
