Royal Gramma

The Royal Gramma (Gramma loreto) is a great fish for beginners. They are reef safe and very hardy. They like a tank with a lot of rock work providing caves and hiding places. Royal Grammas should be kept singly as they will usually fight with each other. However, they are not generally aggressive towards other species. These fish should be fed a varied diet consisting of mysis, brine, and other meaty foods. It is often reported that Royal Grammas will have their colors fade. We find that feeding TDO Pellets helps maintain their vibrant coloration. They should be housed in a 25+ gallon tank with a good fitting lid. Max size is roughly 3″.
